By accessing or using Compressly (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
Compressly is a free, browser-based tool for compressing, resizing and converting image files (JPEG, PNG and WebP). All file processing occurs locally on your own device; the Service does not upload or store your images.
2. Acceptable use
- You may use the Service for lawful personal, educational, or commercial purposes.
- You agree not to attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the website, its infrastructure, or any advertising systems displayed on it.
- You are solely responsible for the images you process and must ensure you have the legal right to use and modify them.
3. Your files and intellectual property
You retain all ownership and intellectual property rights in the images you process. Because files are handled entirely within your browser, we never receive, host, or claim any rights to them. We cannot recover lost files — please keep backups of your originals.
4. No warranty; results may vary
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. Compression is inherently lossy for formats such as JPEG and WebP; results, file sizes and image quality depend on the source image, your browser, device capabilities and the settings you choose. We do not guarantee that any image will be reduced to a specific size, that metadata removal will succeed in every browser, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Compressly and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data, lost profits, or damage to files, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the Service.
6. File size and format limits
The Service currently accepts JPEG, PNG and WebP files up to approximately 25 MB each. These limits and supported formats may change at any time. Features such as WebP output depend on your browser's capabilities.
7. Advertising
The Service is supported by advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense and its partners. Advertisements are clearly labeled and do not constitute endorsements of any advertised product. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser, and are governed by the relevant advertisers' terms. See our Privacy Policy for information about advertising cookies.
8. Third-party links and content
The website may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third parties.
9. Changes to the Service and terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also revise these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction from which the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
